Challenge

Publicly listed financial services company Talenom wanted to build its brand and increase its recognition. The company has a customer-focused promise, “Joy of Entrepreneurship”, and wanted to differentiate from competitors on the market by telling stories about their customers, the entrepreneurs, instead of stories about themself. Talenom wants to show their insight in the world of entrepreneurs and that they support them each day at work.

Solution

Talenom wanted to be on everybody’s lips on Entrepreneur Day on 5 September by launching its #ylpeäyrittäjälapsi (proud entrepreneur’s child) campaign on social media. The campaign tackles a well-known problem amongst entrepreneurs: building a successful business requires dedication, which affects family time. Even after many years, entrepreneurs feel bad about never being able to spend as much time with their children as they would have liked to.

Talenom wanted to gather entrepreneurial families together and give their children the opportunity to forgive their parents and thank them for everything that they have received from them.

The campaign was wrapped around a touching video on social media. In the video, four older entrepreneurs get surprised by their children showing their love and affection.

Results

The campaign touched its Finnish audience on a broad scale. It quickly attracted over 460,000 views and hundreds of affectionate messages. Around Entrepreneur Day, Talenom and the hashtag #ylpeäyrittäjänlapsi were the most trending topics on Twitter. In addition, Talenom’s sales almost doubled during the campaign.
